Arizona Columbine Garden Club

Bunny Mellon Event

The Arizona Columbine Garden Club hosted a morning with Bunny Mellon in January 2019 offering two award winning journalists and best-selling authors for members and community guests to enjoy. Meryl Gordon, author of Bunny Mellon, The Life of An American Legend chronicled the remarkable life of an elite twentieth-century woman who was interested in gardening, art and interior design. Gordon illuminated the virtues, the fine taste and contradictions of socialite Bunny Mellon in her entertaining presentation.

In her book The Gardens of Bunny Mellon, Linda Jane Holden took us behind the scenes and revealed the mystique of Rachel Lambert Mellon and her signature style that defined her talent and created her renowned gardens. The photographs in her book and slide show presentation were captured in a vivid display showcasing her gardens from the White House garden she landscaped to her home gardens in Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, Antiqua and France.
